Fast fashion has done enough for us - and our planet.

How can we, as conscious consumers, dress and buy in an industry that has done more harm than good?

It’s simple: research. Do your research for companies and brands that align with your values. For me, it’s Organic Basics.

Organic Basics has become a foundation in my conscious closet. From intimates to shirts to activewear, Organic Basics has done all the work for you in building a wardrobe that you’ll feel good about - and feel good in.

Organic Basics has a mission to become more sustainable such as being carbon neutral to sourcing low impact materials such as TENCEL.

What does that mean for me?

It means that purchasing and using clothes like Organic Basics’ that are low impact means I’m doing my part as a conscious consumer to support and sustain our planet.

From being low-waste (here’s my post on being low-waste on the go) and composting, to thrifting, reusing, repairing old clothing, I’ve been inspired to become more aware of choices I make that affects the environment. Lately, I’ve been going local with the produce I buy from the Farmer’s Market, using reusable cotton bags and cotton produce bags to carry my groceries, and shopping in the bulk section for what I need using upcycled honey jars. For me, the less shipping and packaging, the better it is for the planet and my health.

TENCEL Lite Briefs

Organic Basics’ uses TENCEL lyocell, which is derived from responsibly sourced wood pulp and mixed with a solvent, which goes through tiny holes to create a biodegradable fiber. No water needed, and low carbon emissions.

TENCEL Lite Bralette

I love about my Organic Basics’ TENCEL underwear & bralette is that it’s so. damn. smooth. I feel like I can wear it forever. The material feels silky while being very comfortable. It looks so good too.

Low Impact Fashion Doesn’t Mean Low Impact Style

I feel like a better person knowing that my basics are produced ethically as well. When looking at every product, online you can see how much water, carbon emissions, waste and chemicals you’re saving! Investing in an ethical supply chain as well from raw material sourcing and extraction to production, they also aim to have a carbon neutral supply chain by 2025!

These intimate starter pack look so good and seamless under my clothing. I literally love just chilling in them too with a robe or cotton button up!
