Writing will always find a way back into my life. I’ve been writing in diaries and journals for as long as I can remember, being inspired by how Anne Frank gave us a glimpse into her life, her views, and her personality. Lately, I’ve been writing as a means of an escape during a very difficult time in my life. I would never imagine that writing will still play a huge part of my life as a freelance blogger, an aspiring playwright, and an aspiring screenwriter.

I would write late at night hence the sweater and skirt combo. I’ve been recycling pieces in my closet and bringing new life and outfits to them than what they’re made for. I find this outfit makes me feel like the a popular girl/Gretchen Weiner vibes ( “ That’s so FETCH! “ ) but also writer/book nerd vibes. I’ve been attempting to read Haruki Murakami’s 1Q84 and recently finished Kafka on the Shore . Currently, I’m reading Anne Garreta’s Not Another Day since I’ve been a fan of her queer experimental prose (please read her genderless love story Sphinx . It’s beautifully written).

I’ve been experimenting with playwriting and screenwriting, revisiting old projects I’ve done in the past and working on a new draft of them. I feel that doing writing exercises that I’ve learned in playwriting has helped me as well as reading a lot more literature over the past couple of weeks.

Doing a lot of internal work such as recovering through trauma as well as my past, has been a critical yet rewarding feat during my time in social distancing. This was a pretty turbulent year, and it hasn’t been May yet. Journaling what I’ve been going through and seeing growth from where I was to where I currently am is such an amazing thing to witness. It gives me hope that I’m on my way to growing into a person I’ll be proud to be : loving and caring for myself, because I value my relationship with myself.

I’ve been drafting a lot of content for the blog. Hope you enjoy what I’ve created <3
